The Borderline Personality Disorder Society of British Columbia is seeking expressions of interest from committed and reliable individuals looking to join our Board of Directors. Members of the Board of Directors must have demonstrated competency in one or more of the following key areas (* indicates high priority areas): 1. Mental health advocacy 2. Mental health support 3. Corporate or Non-Profit Finance* 4. Corporate or Non-Profit Administration 5. Legal 6. Social Networking 7. Fundraising* 8. Grant writing* 9. Governance* 10. Program development By joining our Board of Directors, you can help guide the direction of the Society in pursuit of our mission to provide education and support for people with borderline personality disorder (BPD), their family members and friends; to increase awareness to the community at large throughout BC; and to promote research about BPD. |
| Training Details |
We will provide needed training but having experience with being on Boards in the past is an asset. Qualifications: Passion for supporting individuals with BPD and their families. Expertise in areas such as nonprofit governance, non profit financial management, or fundraising. Assets: Experience in grant writing, donor relations, or revenue development. Clinical expertise. Experience with mental health advocacy, support and/or program development. Previous board or leadership experience in a nonprofit setting. Proven track record of successful event planning and delivery. |
| Working Conditions |
Virtual/Hybrid One-year term, with an opportunity for renewal. Approximate time commitment of 5-10 hours per month, including board meetings and additional responsibilities as needed such as committees. |
