Impact Statement Join the dedicated community of Saanich Police Crime Prevention Volunteers and make a difference in the safety and well-being of our neighbourhoods. A a Crime Prevention Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in fostering a safer environment by actively engaging with residents, sharing vital crime prevention information, and collaborating with Saanich Police Officers, Reserve Constables and Community Safety Officers to enhance community trust.
Description Saanich Police Crime Prevention Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing community safety and crime prevention efforts throughout Saanich. Volunteers promote safety awareness provide education on crime prevention strategies, and foster a positive relationship with the police and public.

Key Responsibilities:
-Actively participate in community events to promote crime prevention initiatives
-Provide a visible presence in Saanich through Speed and Cell Watch
-Conduct presentations workshops on crime prevention topics
-Represent the Saanich Police Department positively
-Treat community members or recipients of service with respect, courtesy and consideration regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnic, cultural or economic background
Training Details Attend training sessions, workshops and meetings as required to stay informed about crime prevention strategies, and community resources, and volunteer responsibilities.
Orientation and training are mandatory and occur in person at the Saanich Police Department
Working Conditions Safe working conditions either in office or outside events
Provided with uniform shirt, jackets, and visibility vests
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime, Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail Commit to a minimum of one (1) year of service and 3 hours per week
