The VDRC aims to promote the independence of persons living with all forms of disabilities, and at the heart of this are our wonderful volunteers. We offer a wide range of opportunities for individuals to help with the daily operations of our organization and, in the process, develop valuable skills and practices that many prospective employers look for in job applicants.
Description *PLEASE NOTE* Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the VDRC is offering our services remotely. While our office remains closed to the public, staff and volunteers are still working on site and anyone interested in applying to be a volunteer is encouraged to do so. We have established very thorough COVID safety measures for everyone working in the office to follow.

Front Desk Administrators answer phone calls from people looking to inquire about our services. The front desk administrator listens to the service user’s situation and ensures they are referred to the proper source of assistance. This task requires a strong ability to listen attentively and make prompt assessments about where to refer the service user. They also assist with prepping outgoing mail and various other office administration related tasks as needed.
Training Details All volunteers will go through an orientation period and receive thorough training on this position and the organization.
Working Conditions A bright, light-hearted office space with a warm and friendly staff.
Minimum Duration 4 - 6 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail One three and a half hour shift per week
Monday to Friday
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Age 18+
