Position: Workshop Facilitator - Community Leadership Development Program

Impact Statement: Leadership Victoria's flagship program is based on a blend of theory and experience in the community. We bring together adult learners from diverse backgrounds, who work in business, non-profit, academic and government environments, and put them to work in collaborative teams.

Our Mission is to support, celebrate and develop community leaders who will make a difference that has social impact in the Greater Victoria community.
Description: Our facilitators plan and host workshops scheduled one Saturday a month from November - February.The curriculum has already been determined, and is centered around four pillars of competencies: Know and Manage Self; Lead Through Influence; Navigate Community Systems and Make Things Happen.We follow the 70/20/10 rule: effective learning emerges from 70% experiential; 20% peer engagement and 10% theory.
Training Details: Experienced facilitators are those with 2-4 years experience developing and delivering adult education programs. Those with less experience, but who have a motivation to learn adult education principles and effective facilitation skills are also encouraged to learn how they can contribute.
Working Conditions: Facilitators collaborate with their colleagues and Team Coaches to deliver dynamic, activity based learning. Their work is supported by Leadership Victoria's Program Manager, who coordinates details such as venues, resources,etc. The program includes an guided, 24/7 online virtual classroom that is supported by Team Coaches and an online facilitator.
Minimum Duration: 4 - 6 months
Timing: Weekday - Evening, Weekend - Daytime
Time Detail: 6.5 hours per workshop; up to 3 hours preparatory time
