The Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is a non-profit community organization of volunteers, staff & a board of directors whose main goal is to keep Victoria’s Annual Ska & Reggae Festival improving & evolving year after year. Our goal is to entertain, educate & unite audiences nationally & internationally through the artistic development of ska, reggae & other Jamaican rooted genres such as rocksteady, dub & dancehall. All those involved in the Society have a burning passion for supporting the ska & reggae scene throughout Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland as well as Canada & the rest of the world. | Description |
VOLUNTEER - Ticket Sales: We like to think that our ticket sales volunteers hold the keys to the festival. You are selling more than a ticket, you are selling a toe-tapping, bum-shaking, sing-a-longing good time! - Responsibilities include: handling money, knowing the schedule and being able to describe the bands, explaining the festival to first-timers. We are accepting VOLUNTEER APPLICATIONS NOW! More information will be available shortly through the online application. Thank you for your patience. | Training Details | It is preferred and STRONGLY ADVISED that all volunteers attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting in Wednesday, June 14 from 7pm-8/8:30pm at the Victoria Curling Club, Upper Lounge to learn about volunteering with us and to meet with other volunteers and supervisors before the festival. |
| Working Conditions |
Please note: Volunteers are required to work a minimum of two shifts. After working shifts (average 6 - 8 hours each), or at Volunteer Coordinator's discretion, volunteers may be eligible for entry into performances (if they are not already scheduled to work it) depending on scheduling, availability, and capacity. 2 shifts = Free show 3 shifts = 2 Free shows 4 shifts = 3 Free shows 5 shifts = all shows |
