Impact Statement The Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is a non-profit community organization of volunteers, staff & a board of directors whose main goal is to keep Victoria’s Annual Ska & Reggae Festival improving & evolving year after year. Our goal is to entertain, educate & unite audiences nationally & internationally through the artistic development of ska, reggae & other Jamaican rooted genres such as rocksteady, dub & dancehall.
All those involved in the Society have a burning passion for supporting the ska & reggae scene throughout Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland as well as Canada & the rest of the world.

Description VOLUNTEER - HOSPITALITY - volunteers are there to ensure that the bands have a comfortable and awesome festival experience. We are looking for responsible individuals who can develop strong working relationships and anticipate the needs of our performers. Having your up to date Serving it Right certificate and/or Food Safe certificate is a definite asset.
- Responsibilities include: maintaining the cleanliness of the backstage area, ensuring people have the right documentation to be backstage, assisting the artists when they need help, enjoying the close-up view of the stage.

Training Details It is preferred and STRONGLY ADVISED that all volunteers attend a Volunteer Orientation meeting in Wednesday, June 14 from 7pm-8/8:30pm at the Victoria Curling Club, Upper Lounge to learn about volunteering with us and to meet with other volunteers and supervisors before the festival.
Working Conditions Please note: Volunteers are required to work a minimum of two shifts. After working shifts (average 6 - 8 hours each), or at Volunteer Coordinator's discretion, volunteers may be eligible for entry into performances (if they are not already scheduled to work it) depending on scheduling, availability, and capacity.
