Position Gathering Our Voices Volunteer - Gathering Our Voices (GOV)
Location 721 Government Street, Victoria, BC, Canada
Impact Statement Volunteers are at the heart of GOV's success. Their enthusiasm, skills, and dedication help create an unforgettable experience for Indigenous youth. By volunteering, you're sending a powerful message: every young person is deserving of our time and support.

The goal of Gathering Our Voices (GOV) is simple and strong: provide Indigenous youth with the tools to empower and inspire so that they can contribute their gifts to their communities and the world. Over the course of four days, delegates gather from across Canada to participate in ceremonies, workshops, and engaging informative and educational experiences.
Description GOV 2024 will host 1,200 Indigenous youth ages 14 to 24 for four exciting days of ceremonies, workshops, and engaging, informative, and educational experiences.

We are looking for 200 volunteers to assist us from March 17 until mid-day on March 22. Volunteers play a crucial role in ensuring the host community is welcoming and approachable, and volunteers send youth a powerful message – that they are worthy of our time and energy.

Volunteer roles include assisting at registration, helping to prepare delegate kits, being an usher and guide to help delegates find their workshops, supporting facilitators, artisans and exhibitors, assisting at the information booth during the event, travelling with groups of delegates to off site workshop locations (on private buses), and assisting with set up and take down.
Training Details Training and orientation provided by BCAAFC.
Working Conditions Most positions will be indoors in the beautiful Empress Hotel, the Victoria Convention Centre, and Crystal Gardens.
