We will be removing invasive plants from Murray's Pond Park in Colwood! It's a great opportunity to meet new people, learn about environmental issues and increase biodiversity :) Please RSVP on Meetup at https://www.meetup.com/greater-victoria-green-team/events/303197759/ or email Kaitlin@GreenTeamsCanada.ca if you're having trouble signing up. FLOW OF THE ACTIVITY • Meet at the Park, behind the Royal Bay Secondary School student parking lot by 9:45am for sign-in & introductions (please be on time) • Receive instruction & demo for the activity • Remove invasive plants • Take break for refreshments half way through • Volunteer until 1:00 pm then sign-out at end REGISTER AS A GREEN TEAM VOLUNTEER AHEAD OF TIME ONLINE • If you haven't yet, register online (You only need to fill out this form once): http://bit.ly/2GEDEO9 |
| Training Details | We will provide all training and tools. No previous experience necessary! |
| Working Conditions | We will be working outdoors, rain or shine. Please wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty. We recommend long pants/sleeves to protect from thorny plants & insects. Remember to check the weather - bring a hat/sunscreen/sunglasses as needed. Bring your water bottle to stay hydrated (we will have extra water and snacks on site too!) |
