Volunteers are the backbone of Vic West Fest! The Victoria West Community Association is a not for profit organization whose mission is to engage residents in community stewardship, to impact decisions that affect the community, to raise awareness, to foster a sense of spirit and pride and to encourage participation in community issues, solutions, projects and events. |
| Description |
Help bring the event to life and wrap it up at the end of the day. Volunteers support setting up tents, tables, signage, and activity areas, and assist with takedown and pack-out once the event concludes. These are great roles for those who like hands-on work and being part of the behind-the-scenes action. Please check out the specific requirements for each role before signing up. |
| Training Details | All volunteers are asked to check in at the Volunteer Tent outside the Community Centre at the start of their shift. You’ll receive detailed information about how to prepare for your volunteer role after you sign up online. We’re hosting a one-hour orientation session on May 30 to help you feel prepared and confident in your role, and will share a summary with those who can’t attend. |
| Working Conditions |
Ability to lift and move 15lbs required. All volunteers will receive a break, food & drink, a letter of appreciation, a 10% off coupon to Big Wheel Burger and time to enjoy the festival. Volunteering at VWF means being outside in Banfield Park, rain or shine (barring extreme weather). Please dress appropriately for the weather so you can stay comfortable throughout the day. We recommend layers, a hat, sunglasses and comfortable shoes. Breaks will be held inside with access to food and drinks, and we recommend bringing a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated. |
