That's why we work to create hope and opportunities for people experiencing homelessness and poverty. We offer a range of services, including affordable housing, emergency shelters, primary health and dental care, nutritious meals, and wellness programs such as recreation, employment, and volunteer opportunities. Our dedicated staff and volunteers support over 12,000 individuals annually across 20 locations in Victoria, Saanich, and Langford. We provide housing and support to more people experiencing homelessness in our community than any other organization.
Description
We’re looking for people who would like to help us out in our day services area. This would include: Handing out hygiene supplies & towels, signing folks in and out of showers, and organizing clothing donations and assisting clients in the clothing donation room.

Training Details
Online orientation followed by shadowing an experienced staff or volunteer. Orientation shifts are offered daily from 1-3 pm.
Working Conditions
You would be set up behind a donation counter in the Day Services/Hygiene room. No heavy lifting required. Sorting through donations (lifting up to 5 lbs), folding towels and clothing. Signing people in and out of showers. Staff onsite and close for questions and support.
We are looking for volunteers who can commit to a regular weekly shift for a minimum of 3 months. Shifts are available daily ranging from 8-10 am, 10-12 pm, 12-2 pm, 2-4 pm, and 4-6 pm. Our greatest area of need is the daily 2-4 pm shift.
